Testing For Drugs Used In
Sexual Assault
It’s one of the most awful things we see, but unfortunately, it happens more than we’d like to admit. If you or a loved one is a victim of rape, it’s important to act quickly. One thing you’ll want to do is gather evidence, and that’s where a drug test can come into play. If you believe your perpetrator used a drug to compromise judgment or reduce inhibitions to harm you, get a drug panel that runs the main sexual assault and club drugs so you have evidence that will stand up in court.
What Drugs Are Tested In Cases of Sexual Assault?
“Roofies” are probably the most common drugs known to lower inhibitions and awareness to commit a sexual assault. However, roofies are only one of several designer drugs, or club drugs, that some use. There are several drugs that may be used in a crime like sexual assault. A comprehensive panel test focused on unknown substances or drugs frequently used in sexual assault will check for the following drugs, many of which are easily slipped into drinks and impair the victim in several ways:
- Ecstasy (MDMA)
- Flunitrazepam
- Gamma-hydroxybutyrate
- Ketamine
These drugs and alcohol are used to impair the victim, so they do not remember the assault or what is happening to them. Oftentimes, the drugs are put into drinks without the victim knowing it. Or the person may be taking a drug or drinking alcohol and someone else might be making it stronger without the victim knowing it. Unfortunately, the appearance of the drugs often matches the loof of regular drinks or other drugs that users are familiar with or used to seeing. For example, Ketamine, GBL, Gamma-hydroxybutyrate, and Flunitrazepam may look like powders, liquids, or pills.
If you need a test to check for unknown drugs that could be used in a sexual assault, do not wait any longer. Please give us a call today or walk-in at your convenience.

Recognizing Unknown Drugs Used for Sexual Assault
Certain drugs and alcohol are used to impair the victim so they do not remember the assault or what is happening to them. Oftentimes, drugs used in sexual assault scenarios are put into drinks without the victim's knowledge or the person may be taking a drug or drinking alcohol and someone else might be making it stronger without the victim knowing. Drugs used to make a victim less capable of avoiding rape often look like regular drinks or other drugs that you are familiar with or used to seeing. Drugs, for example, Ketamine, GBL, Gamma-hydroxybutyrate, and Flunitrazepam may look like powders, liquids, or pills. Often, these drugs have no taste, color, or smell when added to food or a drink. If one of these drugs is added by someone to a drink, it may make your drink look cloudy or the color of a clear drink may change. However, if the drink is dark, the changes may be hard to see, for example in beer or colas and if the room is dark, the color of the drink will become difficult to demarcate. In addition, you cannot always tell if the drug has been added to the drink by just tasting or looking at it.
