Maternal DNA Test (Mother, Child): Mother & Child DNA Test. Lab Confirmation/MRO Included. Specimen Type: Buccal Swab
A maternity test works a lot like a paternity test. You can perform a maternity test to determine if a woman is a child’s biological mother. There are many situations where this would be useful, such as to determine immigration history, confirm the biological mother in cases of birth confusion, and more.
A maternity test only needs a sample of DNA (most often a cheek swab) from the child, as well as from the mother. If this is not possible to obtain, testing grandparents may be another option.
To request this test, call our office and schedule an appointment.
We’ll work with you to collect the samples – you do not have to schedule collections at the same time or on the same day. Our team will help make sure everything is collected in the right way.

Unlocking the long-lost story that literally created you- all through the power of DNA Ancestry Testing.
Amelia was unknowingly adopted at the age of three by a loving couple who was wholly dedicated to providing a happy, healthy, and safe home for their daughter.
When many people think of laboratory blood tests, they imagine making an appointment at their doctor's office, taking time off work, paying large fees, and waiting around in the lobby for who knows how long.
When is Maternity Testing Needed?
Most often this is used in cases of immigration. It is also not uncommon to need this test in adoption cases. In some cases, when an adoption has closed for an adopted child, that child will look to a maternity test to verify if a woman is his/her birth mother.
In rare occasions, a maternity test can be used to verify you went home with the right child from the hospital and other maternity mixups. While these are uncommon, such situations are full of confusion and turmoil, and that’s exactly why the clarity and hard data of DNA is so useful.
