Skin Care Genetic Profile Testing
Not everyone’s skin is the same. Our skin care genetic profile testing analyzes how your genetics influence skin characteristics such as hydration, elasticity and antioxidant capacity. Based on the results, we’ll make recommendations on skin care and keeping it healthy.
What is tested?
Our test determines your skin’s unique characteristics in multiple categories, and it is accompanied by a personalized profile based on genetics. Your report gives topical, oral supplement, and professional treatment recommendations tailored just for you.
The following seven skin aspects are tested:
Skin sensitivity - Skin sensitivities can create stress and trauma to the dermis that can lead to tired and aged cells. Understanding if sensitivity may be an issue allows you to keep your skin as stress free as possible. Some of the signs associated with this category: skin dehydration, active ingredient sensitivities, fragrance sensitivities, itching and redness, environmental sensitivities, and premature aging.
Skin elasticity - Your body has the ability to maintain skin flexibility at a younger age. Skin elasticity can decline as you age due to enzymes - called MMPs - which increase structural damage to the skin. Signs associated with this category include increased collagen breakdown, sagging, jowls, nasolabial folds, healing issues, and premature wrinkling.
Skin antioxidants - Antioxidants help break down free radicals and slow some of the physical signs of aging to help preserve your skin’s natural glow. Free radicals are harmful molecules that are produced naturally from environmental exposures. Some signs associated with this include dull skin, uneven tone, blemishes, pigmentation, wrinkles, premature skin aging, and skin dehydration.
Pigmentation - Melanin helps protect your skin by absorbing damaging UV rays when you are exposed to the sun. Your body will produce more melanin due to more sun exposure causing the skin to tan and darken. The cause of most irregular skin pigmentation is by either an over or under production of melanin in the body. Some of the signs associated with pigmentation include freckles, age spots, rough skin, texture, and discoloration.
Collagen quality - Collagen makes up approximately 75% of skin, and youthful skin is smooth in large part because of healthy collagen levels. While collagen production naturally occurs throughout our lives, the quality and quantity varies. Because of this, everyone experiences different levels of skin aging attributes based on the level of collagen quality. Some of the signs associated with this are sagging, scarring, healing issues, hollowing, accelerated aging, and fine lines.
Fine lines and Wrinkles - Fine lines and wrinkles are formed from a decline in collagen levels and advanced glycation end (AGE) products. AGEs have the ability to target and stick to collagen and elastin fibers causing them to become rigid and brittle. The effects of glycation at a skin’s cellular level may result in wrinkling, stiff or hardened collagen fibers, loss of elasticity, and compromised skin barrier functions.
Sun Protection - Your body is equipped with natural responses that help break down photo products once they have penetrated your skin. A photochemical process helps assist in breaking down UV rays before they can do any major damage. Some of the signs associated with this are fine lines and wrinkles, crepe-like/thinning skin, sun sensitivity, skin thickening/leathery skin.

Understanding the Downside Risks of “At-Home” Non-Legal Paternity Tests
Everyone is well aware of the fact that genetic material comes from both parents. The mother’s and father’s genes come together to form the unique chemical which is generally known as DNA.
Advanced DNA Testing for Overall Health
Unlocking the long-lost story that literally created you- all through the power of DNA Ancestry Testing.
Amelia was unknowingly adopted at the age of three by a loving couple who was wholly dedicated to providing a happy, healthy, and safe home for their daughter.
Discovering Your Past, Learning Your History, and Uncovering your Heritage
When many people think of laboratory blood tests, they imagine making an appointment at their doctor's office, taking time off work, paying large fees, and waiting around in the lobby for who knows how long.
Sometimes, Looks Matter
The appearance of your skin is an excellent indicator of your overall health. Nutritional deficiencies can cause pale and sallow skin, specific irritants or foods can cause an inflammatory response, and too much sun exposure leads to increased wrinkles and age spots.
Our test identifies genetic variants that influence your skin health and appearance. We know you cannot change your genes; however, we’d like to offer recommendations based on results to help the appearance of your skin.
In addition, this test will help you understand your unique genetic variation, allowing you to choose the skin care products and treatment options that are best for your skin
