A saliva and oral fluid drug test is one of the fastest ways to determine if someone has used drugs or drank alcohol within the past hour. This effective saliva-based drug testing detects alcohol or drug use within the last 24-48 hours, so it is often preferred because the results arrive faster than urine tests.
If you have negative results, you may receive them within the same day of testing. On the other hand, non-negative tests need further examination at the lab, so you could get results within several days depending on lab confirmation and Medical Review of prescribed medications.
In addition to detecting if an individual uses alcohol or drugs, fluid drug testing may also show the level of drugs in a person's body. Saliva tests look for a psychoactive ingredient called the "parent compound." If this substance is in saliva, it means it's also in the bloodstream, thus indicating the level of alcohol or drugs in the tested individual's blood.
Is it possible to cheat this test?
