Accurate, Affordable Lab Testing for Autoimmune Conditions
Autoimmune diseases occur when your immune system mistakenly attacks healthy cells, treating them as foreign invaders. This abnormal immune response triggers chronic inflammation and can lead to a wide range of serious health conditions. According to the National Institutes of Health (NIH), approximately 23.5 million Americans live with an autoimmune disorder.
At Test Smartly Labs Kansas City, we offer convenient, reliable, and affordable lab testing to help identify autoimmune disorders early and provide critical data to assist your physician in making an accurate diagnosis.

Why Autoimmune Testing is Important
Autoimmune diseases are often complex and difficult to diagnose due to their wide-ranging symptoms and overlapping conditions. Early testing allows your healthcare provider to:
-
Identify the presence of immune system dysfunction
-
Monitor inflammation levels
-
Evaluate specific antibodies associated with certain diseases
-
Begin appropriate treatments earlier to manage symptoms and prevent complications
While the exact cause of many autoimmune diseases remains unknown, genetics, environmental factors, and certain infections may increase your risk.
Types of Autoimmune Lab Tests We Offer
No single test can diagnose all autoimmune disorders, but several lab tests are commonly used to help detect and monitor these conditions:
-
Autoantibody Test: Detects antibodies that target your body’s own tissues.
-
C-Reactive Protein (CRP): Measures inflammation levels in your body.
-
Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate (ESR): Evaluates how quickly red blood cells settle, indicating inflammation.
Your physician may recommend one or more of these tests depending on your symptoms and health history.
Common Autoimmune Diseases
There are many forms of autoimmune disease, each with unique symptoms, risk factors, and complications. Some of the most common include:
-
Rheumatoid arthritis
-
Celiac disease
-
Lupus
-
Multiple sclerosis (MS)
-
Type 1 diabetes
-
Vasculitis
-
Alopecia
Because many autoimmune diseases share similar symptoms such as fatigue, joint pain, skin problems, digestive issues, and swelling, proper testing is a crucial step in making a correct diagnosis.
When to Consider Autoimmune Disease Testing
If you are experiencing persistent or unexplained symptoms such as:
-
Chronic fatigue
-
Joint pain or swelling
-
Digestive issues
-
Muscle weakness
-
Skin rashes
-
Hair loss
-
Numbness or tingling in the limbs
-
Difficulty concentrating
you should speak with your physician about ordering autoimmune testing. Early identification allows for better symptom management and improved long-term health outcomes.
Treatment Options for Autoimmune Diseases
Currently, most autoimmune diseases do not have a cure, but many effective treatments can help control symptoms and prevent complications. Common treatment options include:
-
Anti-inflammatory medications
-
Corticosteroids
-
Pain management therapies
-
Physical therapy and rehabilitation
-
Surgical interventions (in severe cases)
-
Medications to treat specific deficiencies or affected organs
Because autoimmune diseases can be difficult to diagnose and manage, it’s important to start testing early and work closely with your healthcare team to develop a personalized treatment plan.

Saving Money by Shopping for Affordable Lab Testing
Let’s face it: health care is outrageously expensive in America, and the costs have been on the rise over the last couple of decades. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the average consumer spent $4,968 on health care in 2018. Your health care costs may vary depending on your health insurance (or lack of it), but very few people find medical costs reasonable, especially when additional lab charges are billed after a medical visit.
