Your First Line of Defense Against Cardiovascular Disease

Heart disease is the #1 cause of death in the United States, accounting for approximately 1 in every 5 deaths (CDC). But here’s the good news: most heart conditions are preventable or manageable through early detection and lifestyle adjustments.

At Test Smartly Labs, we make it simple, affordable, and accessible to get the heart testing you need—no insurance or doctor’s referral required. Whether you’re proactively monitoring your wellness or managing a known condition, our heart health panels are designed to give you real answers, fast.

Why Get Heart Health Tests?

Symptoms of heart disease often develop late, when damage is already occurring. Regular blood and lab testing gives you the data you need to catch issues early—before they escalate into something serious.

Early Detection Can Help You:

  • Prevent stroke, heart attack, and kidney disease

  • Understand how your diet and lifestyle are impacting your cardiovascular health

  • Monitor conditions like high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or diabetes

  • Evaluate the effects of medications or supplements

  • Track improvement from new fitness or nutrition efforts

Heart health is about prevention—not panic. The earlier you detect risk, the more options you have.

What Heart Health Screenings Are Available?

1. Blood Pressure

  • Why it matters: High blood pressure damages arteries and leads to heart attacks, stroke, and kidney disease.

  • When to test: At least once every two years if normal; more often if borderline or high.

2. Fasting Lipoprotein Profile (Cholesterol Test)

  • What’s measured: Total cholesterol, LDL, HDL, and triglycerides

  • Why it matters: Unhealthy cholesterol levels increase your risk for coronary artery disease and heart attacks—even if you feel fine.

  • How to prepare: Fast 8–12 hours before testing.

3. Hemoglobin A1c (Diabetes Screening)

  • Why it matters: Diabetes significantly increases cardiovascular risk. A1c gives a 3-month average of your blood glucose levels.

  • When to test: Annually, or more often if diabetic or prediabetic.

4. C-Reactive Protein (CRP – High Sensitivity)

  • What it shows: Inflammation in the blood vessels, which can be a warning sign for heart disease.

  • Why it matters: Even small elevations in CRP correlate to higher cardiovascular risk, especially for those with few other symptoms.

5. Homocysteine

  • What it does: An amino acid linked to blood clotting and artery damage when elevated.

  • Why it matters: High homocysteine levels are a silent risk factor for heart attack and stroke, particularly in those with poor diet or B-vitamin deficiencies.

6. Apolipoprotein B (ApoB)

  • Why it matters: ApoB is more predictive of heart disease than LDL alone. It’s essential for those managing lipid disorders or with a family history of heart disease.

Our Heart Health Panels: Explained

We’ve designed three levels of panels to give you control over how deeply you want to assess your heart health.

Healthy Heart Panel – Basic

Ideal for annual screening or first-time testers.

Includes:

  • Complete Blood Count (CBC)

  • Comprehensive Metabolic Panel (CMP-14)

  • Lipid Panel (Total/LDL/HDL/Triglycerides)

  • Urinalysis (general health indicators)

  • CRP (High-Sensitivity)

Purpose: Provides a foundational view of heart and organ function, inflammatory markers, and blood composition.

Healthy Heart Profile – Comprehensive

Best for those with elevated risk or managing a chronic condition.

Includes everything in the Basic Panel, plus:

  • Hemoglobin A1c (diabetes check)

  • Apolipoprotein B

  • Homocysteine

  • Lipoprofile NMR (measures size/density of LDL particles)

Purpose: Offers deeper insight into hidden risk factors like dense LDL particles and inflammatory states that traditional panels might miss.

Healthy Heart Profile – Ultimate

Recommended for those with a personal or family history of cardiovascular disease.

Includes everything in Comprehensive, plus:

  • Lipoprotein-associated Phospholipase A2 (PLAC) – measures vascular inflammation and risk of rupture-prone plaques

Purpose: The most thorough non-invasive lab-based cardiovascular screen available without referral. Ideal for those with metabolic syndrome, diabetes, or prior heart issues.
