Celiac Disease Testing
Before the absence of gluten became popular with everyday food brands, those with celiac disease were finding other ways to cut gluten from their diets. That’s because their health, and sometimes their lives, depended on it. Those with celiac disease suffer from an autoimmune disease where their bodies attack their small intestines if they eat gluten – a protein found in wheat, rye and barley.
Thorough And Accurate Celiac Disease Testing
If you suspect you have celiac disease, it’s important to find out. We can help run the lab test that will let you know if you have a clinical case of celiac.
Your food sensitivities might not stop at wheat, so a food allergy panel may be a smart choice for you. It’s important to know a doctor will likely have follow-up steps for you regardless of the outcome of the lab test. Although the test may come back as negative for celiac disease, you may still have a wheat sensitivity you’ll need to manage with a gluten-free diet.
From the Celiac Disease Foundation:
“1 in 100 people have this disorder. People with a first-degree relative with celiac disease (parent, child, sibling) have a 1 in 10 risk of developing celiac disease – it’s commonly seen as a genetic condition.”
