Recognizing the Use of Date Rape Drugs
Date Rape Drugs and alcohol are used to impair the victim, so they do not remember the assault or what is happening to them. Often times, Date Rape Drugs are put into drinks without the victim knowing it. Or the person may be taking a drug or drinking alcohol and someone else might be making it stronger without the victim knowing it. Date Rape drugs often look like regular drinks or other drugs that you are familiar with or used to seeing. Drugs, for example, Ketamine, GBL, GHB, Rohypnol may look either like powders, liquid or pills. Often, these drugs have no taste, color, or smell when added to food or a drink. If a date rape drug is added by someone to a drink, it may make your drink look cloudy or the color of a clear drink may change. However, if the drink is dark, the changes may be hard to see, for example in beer or colas and if the room is dark, the color of the drink will become difficult to demarcate. In addition, you cannot always tell if the drug has been added to the drink by just tasting or looking at it.
